For my first official review I figured I would start with one of my favorites, a Sonoma County Cab. For $14.99, the Sebastiani 2007 Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon was exactly what I was looking for…..
Wine Type: Red Wine
Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon
Winery: Sebastiani
Appellation: Sonoma County, CA
Vintage: 2007
Varietal Composition: 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 5% Petite Sirah, 3% Syrah, 1 % Malbec and 1% Petite Verdot.
Price Paid: $14.99
Cork Type: Cork
My Review: Overall, this is a very nice wine for the money. It offers the traditional flavors of Sonoma County cabs with a nice blend of Merlot and Petite Sirah to create a nice balanced silky medium to full bodied wine that flirts with the complexities found in the more pricier options.
I would highly recommend this wine for those looking to try a cab from this region, merlot drinkers looking for a cab that is not overly heavy, and of course, for those who favor Sonoma County cabs. I would pair the wine with a nice cut of beef, grilled and seasoned on the spicy side.
